HOLISTIC HEALTH COACHING
Holistic health coaching is a process that guides you to your desired goals for physical, mental, and emotional health. Most of us need guidance and support to reverse longstanding habits and make lasting positive change. It is an investment in yourself first, but it also has positive effects on your relationships, your work, your medical costs and your future. Coaching is not therapy, instead it focuses on how to change things now – it applies your strengths and motivations to measurable goals.
The patient-coach relationship is a partnership where the patient is empowered to be an advocate of their health. The coach guides to lasting change in mindset and behavior, but you ultimately have the answers within you to create the life and health habits you want. The patient drives the process while the coach listens; clarifies the issues, and focuses on solutions. Together, we set clear goals and plans to achieve them. It is a supportive collaboration that brings out the best in you.
Acupuncture is a technique in which specific points on the body are stimulated by inserting thin needles through the skin. The acupuncture points are on channels of energy or meridians that run throughout the body. Acupuncture works by restoring balance and triggering the body’s natural response. The needles activate the natural healing processes in each patient's body as well as to restore their physical and emotional well-being.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) takes a holistic approach to the health and does not make a distinction between the physical, mental, and emotional components of life
The underlying principles of TCM emphasize the body's relationship with nature and its surrounding forces. Health is viewed as an ongoing process of maintaining balance and harmony in the circulation of qi, or vital energy force. TCM focuses on underlying cause of disease, as well as symptoms. This form of medicine includes a broad range of modalities including acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, and qi gong, and nutritional advice.
